African American Read-In

This storytelling event celebrates the National African American Read-In. Register online at SenecaCityMuseums.org to attend the reading and discussion of Change Sings: A Children's Anthem, written by Amanda Gorman with pictures by Loren Long. Cassie Owens Moore, a teacher/librarian for Seneca Middle School, will lead the event.

Registration for this event is required.

This storytelling event is open to all ages.

The National African American Read-In encourages communities to read together, focusing on African American books and authors. The national celebration was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English to make literacy a focus of Black History Month. Since 1990, the program has had more than 6 million participants.
